Day 37: Swimming and Sledding

Swimming class again this morning!  This time we were allowed to use a camera because it's "peek week", so we had my sister come along to help us film during class and to keep an eye on Abby while it was my turn with the camera.  Abby is now really good at going underwater!  In the first few classes, she would cry whenever she'd get dunked, but now she knows to hold her breath and not swallow any water.  One part of the class is aimed at teaching kids to float on their backs if they ever were to fall in the water.  So we have to put Abby on the edge of the pool and put a toy in front of her, and she's supposed to reach for the toy and fall in the water.  The problem is, she's too smart and once she fell in once, she refuses to reach for a toy because she knows she'll end up falling in the pool.  The swim instructor said that's exactly what we want her to do (she just picked it up faster than the other kids in her class, who were falling into the water over and over!)

Later in the afternoon, we decided to take Abby to the elementary school down the street, where there's a huge field of untouched snow (about 3 feet deep)!  So we brought her inflatable sled and tried to take her for a ride, but we had too much trouble trudging through the snow!  So we just sat with her and built a baby snowman instead!
